Most of California remains on track to see a moderate storm system between Wednesday and Friday.
In the infared water vapor loop, the storm can see seen gathering off the coast, with a moist feed approaching from the south, and a cold front from the north. (Image 1)
By Wednesday afternoon the first showers will arrive across the North Bay with rain, heavy at times, through Thursday AM. The plentiful moisture available can be seen in this precipitable water forecast. (Image 2)
The outlook for rainfall by Friday hasn’t changed too much in the past 48 hours. We are still expecting 1-3 inches across the North Bay. The track of the system has shifted a bit south, so the Bay Area and Central California should be getting a healthy dose of rain as well. (Images 3 and 4)
