It will turn much warmer starting late this weekend, with a big low pressure center forecast to be sitting just offshore of California by Sunday. (Image 1)

Despite that, most of the rain should hold off until sometime late Monday. That’s when a plume of moisture is expected to reach the North Bay. (Image 2)

Some showers may fall across the region Sunday and early Monday, but the real action arrives late Monday and continues through Tuesday. You can see the rainfall sweeping across the region in this forecast loop. (Image 3)

High temperatures will remain chilly, in the 50s, until Sunday when warmer air arrives, bringing highs to the region in the 60s through the coming week.
