UPDATE: Heat Peaks Today. Cooler Next Week!

Share with Friends

Our current heat spell is reaching a peak today, with numerous high 80s and even low 90s across Sonoma County and the North Bay.  Santa Rosa is forecast to top out Tuesday at 92.  That’s 10-20 degrees above normal for this time of year.

For the rest of the week, temperatures will come down a few degrees, with fog returning to some coastal areas by Thursday evening.  Right now, strong high pressure is in charge, but that won’t last much longer.

By later this week, the strong high pressure dome sitting over us will move slightly east, cooling temperatures a bit.  And by Monday of next week, the ridge will have left us, giving us more seasonable temperatures in the low 70s.

So look for slight cooling starting Wednesday through the end of the week, and a bigger cool down this weekend with upper 60s to mid 70s returning by the start of the coming week.
