The Sun Will Return! Eventually….

Share with Friends

If you live in the North Bay, you’re probably wondering if the sun will ever return.  The good news is that we WILL see some nice sun breaks this week, as April sends a series of relatively weak disturbances through our area.  You can see that the jet stream is currently sending a stream of moisture into California.

A frontal passage early Tuesday will give us cool and partly sunny skies for Tuesday into Wednesday.

As for the rest of the week, any rain that falls will not amount to much, with most of it staying to our north.  A few showers may arrive late on Thursday and early Friday before a drier, sunnier, and slightly warmer weekend arrives.  As you can see below, not much rain is forecast for this week.

When will dry weather return for a longer stay?  Well, the long range forecast models suggest that may happen by the middle of next week.

A weak storm could slide into the state from the north late on Monday the 15th, bringing us showers before high pressure (shaded in red) builds in by the middle of next week, for what may be a long and welcome stay.

And, what about high temperatures by the end of next week?  Early indications are that temperatures in the high 70’s may make an appearance across the warmer parts of Sonoma County and the North Bay for the weekend of the 20th.  Cross your fingers!
