Sunday Storm Coming with Heavy Rain, Winds

Share with Friends

Even as the North Bay awakened to a nice dose of rain on Saturday, a much larger storm is poised to arrive on Sunday with heavier rain, gusty winds, and even the chance of thunderstorms in parts of Northern California.

Here is storm one, and storm two for Sunday headed in on today’s satellite view.

Rain will ramp up again Sunday morning as the second, stronger storm arrives.  Models predict Sunday’s storm will drop 2-3 times as much rain as Saturday’s storm.  That means around an inch or more of additional rain for most of Sonoma County.

And, winds will be ramping up through Sunday morning, along with a slight chance of thunderstorms.

A mixture of clouds and sun is forecast for the coming week, with temperatures warming up to about 70 degrees in Sonoma County by Wednesday, and continuing into the upcoming weekend.

However, after a week of mostly dry weather, by mid-April long range forecasts show a trough, and quite possibly blustery weather, returning to California.
