THE BIG PICTURE

The North Bay has picked up from 1 to 3 plus inches of rain since the current storm series began on Friday. Another round of rain will arrive Sunday afternoon, and last through most of Monday, bringing as much as 2 additional inches of rain.

Here’s a quick look at 48 hour storm totals:

SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY

On Sunday the next storm was visible just off the Northern California coast.

This system, the third in the series, will bring rain, heavy at times Sunday evening into early Monday afternoon.

24 hour storm totals for this Sunday-Monday system are expected to range up to 2 plus inches of additional rainfall in the wettest spots of the North Bay.

Many valley locations including Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park and Healdsburg may see an additional inch or more of rainfall by early afternoon Monday.

WEDNESDAY STORM LOOKS WETTER

A final wave of moisture is expected to arrive Wednesday the 24th. The forecast for this last storm of the series has trended wetter in the last 24 hours, with a third to half inch of rain likely Wednesday, with more in the hills.

A CHANCE TO DRY OUT

After Wednesday high pressure is still forecast to build in behind the storm series, bringing us nice weather and a chance to dry out from Thursday the 25th through about Tuesday the 30th.

THE LONG RANGE FORECAST

Looking even further out, the long range forecasts show a trough of low pressure building back in along the West Coast in the last few days of the month.

And, a potential new storm for California on the 31st.

For now all of the ensemble models agree that the first 5 days of February may be wetter than normal.

More updates to come.
