Showers Still Expected Friday. Wet November Ahead?

Share with Friends

As forecasts track the upcoming storm system arriving Friday, longer range models are hinting that the second half of the month of November may be wetter than average across Northern California.

In the past 24 hours, the forecast track of Friday’s storm has moved to the west, over the Pacific.  That may allow it to pick up more moisture which means more rain for the region.

Here is the expected position of the cold low on Friday.

And showery rain moving into the area on Friday.  Here’s the GFS.  Others are similar.

Not a lot of rain expected locally.  Maybe one to three tenths of an inch.  More in the mountains.

And temperatures will turn quite chilly, with highs only in the 60s on Friday and Saturday as the cold low pushes into California.

More rain may follow late on Saturday, and around midweek.  And the long range outlook is currently calling for a wet second half of November for Northern California.

So, a major change is underway.  Maybe not all of the rain we want immediately, but perhaps a lot more by Thanksgiving!  Stay tuned.
