SHOWERS SATURDAY AND MONDAY. THEN BIG WARMUP.

Two frontal systems will brush the North Bay over the next few days. Not much is expected in the way of rain, but showers may bring one to two tenths of an inch of rain to the hills.. Much like our recent storms.

Here are the systems lined up on Friday ready to move into the Pacific Northwest.

And the projected rainfall amounts. Some heavy rain will once again fall across far Northern California and the PacNW.

After Monday, a heat-up begins as a high pressure ridge moves into California and the West.

This will bring temperatures in the 80s, to even the low 90s for the North Bay, from Wednesday through next weekend. Here’s next Thursday’s highs according to the European model. The GFS model is hotter by about 5 degrees.

Estimates vary, but all models show much of California 5-10 degrees above normal for the week of October 16-23.

So, the magnitude of the heat up is still uncertain, but prepare for warm to hot mid to late October temperatures.

As far as offshore winds, there are early signals of moderate Santa Ana winds developing across Southern California late in the coming week.

We’ll keep a watch on the possibility of similar offshore winds developing across Northern California, however our recent moisture should help to tamp down fire weather concerns for now.
