Saturday Washout as Another Storm Arrives for the Weekend

Share with Friends

Enjoy Friday’s party sunny skies, as the break will be short-lived with another unusually powerful May storm lining up to dump winter-like rain on Sonoma County and the North Bay.

Saturday plans across the region, including Santa Rosa’s Rose Parade, may be drenched as the storm arrives in the morning.

Here is the Saturday storm, approaching from the west.

The water vapor loop shows that this system is another quite wet storm, especially for mid-May.

How about rain?  Most models show anywhere from 1-2 inches through the weekend for the North Bay.  That will fall as rain through the day on Saturday, and showers into Sunday.

The fairly reliable NAM model shows Santa Rosa, Petaluma and Sebastopol all pushing over 1.5 inches by the end of the weekend.

And looking further ahead, another slightly weaker storm will arrive sometime on Tuesday.  And showery weather and cool temperatures look to hang on through the end of the coming week!
