Members of the Santa Rosa Police Department are mourning the death of detective Marylou Armer, a 20 plus year veteran of the force who died Tuesday from complications of the coronavirus.

Armer was one of 8 Santa Rosa Police officers who have so far tested positive for the virus.  More than a dozen department employees are in self-quarantine due to possible exposure.

Her death marks the 2nd fatality linked the coronavirus in Sonoma County, and the first of a member of the law enforcement community.  In all, more than 100 Santa Rosa P.D. employees have been tested for the virus. Armer was one of the first Santa Rosa Police employees to test positive for COVID-19.

A fund has been set up to help support the officer’s family.  If you’d like to contribute, you can do so via this link:  Marylou Armer Family Fund.
