Redwood Empire Food Bank Needs Volunteers

Share with Friends

With shelter-in-place orders now in their third week across the North Bay, the region’s primary food assistance provider is once again appealing for help in getting supplies to those in the greatest need.

The Redwood Empire Food Bank has been straining to meet the needs not only of its regular clients, but thousands of others across Sonoma County and the North Bay who are no longer employed due to the coronavirus emergency, and newly in need of food assistance.  In normal times, the food bank distributes at 300 locations across Sonoma County, and many additional distribution sites have been added due to the coronavirus emergency.

Volunteers should be in good health, with no symptoms, and will be required to wear a mask and gloves, and keep a social distance of 6 feet from other volunteers.

If you can give of your time, contact the Redwood Empire Food Bank at Redwood Empire Food Bank Volunteer Opportunities

All of this comes as several dozen national guardsmen have arrived in the North Bay, and are poised to lend a hand at the food bank as demand continues to ramp up in the coming days and weeks.
