The low pressure center spinning off the California coast will push onshore Monday and Tuesday, giving the North Bay additional rain at times.

As of late morning Monday, rainfall totals were so far moderate, ranging up to 2 inches in the wettest locations.

As it moves northeast and comes onshore over the next 24 hours, the low will send additional waves of rain into Northern California.

The off and on rain will be reinforced on Wednesday by a 2nd low pressure center that will travel down the California coast.

Here’s a look at possible additional rainfall by Thursday. Generally 2-3 more inches expected across the region from midday Monday to early Thursday. The European and GFS models show a bit more rain than the National Blend of Models (below).

We should be mostly dry from Thursday the 21st through Christmas Day the 25th. The next storm could arrive by early on December 26th, but the models don’t agree. The European has the storm splitting to our north and south, while the GFS (below) sends rain in on the 26th.

We’ll have more updates to come.
