PG&E Power Restoration Begins, Next Outage Map Released

Even as they begin the process of restoring power across portions of the North Bay following the October 26th Power Shutoff Event, PG&E on Monday released a first map showing where they may turn power off once again, in advance of yet another Red Flag wind event expected to arrive late on Tuesday the 29th.

As of Monday, power was still out to most of the 95 thousand Sonoma County customers affected, representing around 300 thousand people across the county. By late in the day, PG&E planned to restore power to some of the areas affected.

The October 26th Shutoff Event was the largest in California history, affecting an estimated 600 thousand people in the North Bay, and 3 million Northern California residents who receive their power from PG&E.

The October 29th planned shutoff is not expected to be as large, but may also affect hundreds of thousands in the North Bay.
