NORTH BAY TRENDS DRIER FOR THE WEEKEND

Share with Friends

The once wet looking storm for the North Bay has trended drier over the past few days as forecasts have the storm energy being sent into far Northern California and Oregon.

You can see the projected path of the storm in this loop. There will be two disturbances that will bring showers, one early Saturday morning and one on Sunday.

The atmospheric moisture plume, a weak AR, is now forecast to wash out over NorCal, just brushing us in the North Bay. A second one on Sunday will lose steam just short of our region. Lots of rain will fall further north.

Here’s what it all means for rainfall. The European model is the wettest right now, showing about a half inch for the North Bay with more in the hills. From Ft. Bragg north however the rain will be much heavier.

Meanwhile, the WPC which blends lots of models together and adds forecaster insight, shows less rain for the region. You can see that the moisture plumes will focus the heaviest rain near the Oregon border.

So, there will be beneficial rain falling across the North Bay region, but it won’t be a significant storm for us. The next chance for rain after this weekend looks to be around November 7th.

Stay tuned for updates.
