MORE THAN HALF OF COUNTY ADULTS HAVE RECEIVED FULL OR PARTIAL VACCINATION – What Changes Under the Orange Tier?

Share with Friends

On Monday Sonoma County reached a milestone; more than half of all adults have received at least some protection from the coronavirus. As the number of total doses administered passed 315 thousand, the percentage of adults vaccinated with at least one shot passed 50% in Sonoma County.

As of Monday, almost 120 thousand Sonoma County residents had been fully vaccinated. 87 thousand had received the first shot of two and were partially vaccinated.

Meanwhile, although the case rate has seen a slight upturn after weeks of decline, county health officials announced Monday that Sonoma County would move into the orange tier of restrictions on Wednesday. This will be possible because California has reached 4 million doses of vaccine administered in the state’s most disadvantaged communities, triggering a loosening of tier restrictions statewide.

Under orange, here are some of the major changes:

-Most stores will be able to expand to full capacity
-Restaurants will be able to operate at 50% capacity or up to 200 diners
-Outdoor events and performances can take place at 33% capacity, twice that if all attendees have current negative COVID tests
-Gyms, dance centers, yoga studios can expand to 25% capacity
-Place of worship can expand to 50% capacity, with restrictions on high risk activities like singing, wind instruments
-Wineries, breweries, distilleries can open at 25% capacity indoors or maximum of 100 people
-Movie theaters can operated at 50% capacity, or up to 200 people
-Indoor entertainment centers like bowling alleys can operate at 25% capacity
