MODERATE HEAT WARNING. HIGHS INLAND 90-100.

The 24 hour temperature change graphic at midday on Friday shows areas near the Sonoma County coast cooling a bit from yesterday, but inland Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties trending hotter.

Temperatures inland were running in the 80s inland as of noon Friday, headed into the 90-100 degree range. The coast should once again see highs in the 60s to mid 70s. But, within a few miles of the ocean temperatures may top 80 degrees.

A weak inland push of marine air is expected Friday afternoon, but it will be confined to the immediate coastal areas of Sonoma County and the Bay shoreline. You can see a pool of cool air just off the coast of Sonoma County (green).

All other areas will remain 10 degrees or hotter than average for the date. (90s)

On Saturday there may be slight cooling in some areas, especially near the coast, as the marine influence looks to strengthen a bit. But expect inland areas to stay in the 85-100 degree range for highs. The cooling marine air is expected to push further inland on Sunday and especially Monday, bringing a break from the heat to inland areas.
