March Miracle May Continue with Rain, Mountain Snow

Share with Friends

Even as the North Bay and the world fixates (for good reason) on the coronavirus crisis, Mother Nature has blessed California with a March Miracle, and that weather turnaround is due to get even better.

A huge 5 day winter storm dumped 6-10 feet of snow in the Sierra, and forecasts show more moisture headed to the state in the coming two to three weeks.

The satellite view today shows all the new snow blanketing the mountains, along with a few clouds.

The next storm is already moving south off the West Coast.  It will move east toward California this weekend.

Although much of this storm’s energy will go south of the Bay Area, we should see some rain by late Sunday.

Another storm will be close on the heels of the Sunday-Monday system.  By early Tuesday…rain will be around once again.

And this will continue, with another storm possible next weekend, and others the following week. Over the next two weeks, forecast models show the rain and mountain snow slowly adding up.

And by the end of the month, forecast models show the low pressure trough still sagging over the West Coast, with the possibility of more storms continuing.

And cool weather hanging around, at least until the start of April.

So, enjoy the return of rain and winter-like weather.  Our state can certainly use it!
