Los Guilicos Given 6 Month Extension – Shelter Choices Narrowed

Amid cost overruns, but also success in serving the homeless, the Los Guilicos emergency homeless village was given a 6 month extension by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.

Intended as a temporary 3 month experiment, the village of 60 pallet shelters will now stay up for far longer, as the county struggles to choose locations for, and build a pair of more permanent indoor-outdoor shelters elsewhere in the county.

As Karl Van Amburg reports, six potential locations for those more permanent shelters was narrowed on Tuesday to three.
