Hot and Dry Two Week Outlook Raising Fire Concerns

Share with Friends

Low humidities and rising temperatures have moved in across Northern California, and this has raised fire weather concerns throughout the region.

Relative humidity values across the region were plummeting today as a ridge of high pressure and winds from the northeast took hold across area.

Those relative humidity values and soaring temperatures have prompted a red flag warning for the inland areas of Northern California, not yet including the North Bay.  Here are today’s expected highs.

A Red Flag warning is up until 8PM tonight for inland areas from Modesto north.

And temperatures look to stay above normal for the next two weeks.  This is the forecast for above normal temperatures for the coming week.

And above normal temperatures for the following week, June 25th to July 2nd.

Cal Fire and local fire agencies caution the public to be especially vigilent in the coming days as the larger fuels like trees and scrubs dry out across the area and any potential fire starts become more dangerous.
