Cool Blast, Possible Showers by Sept 10th

All of the major forecast models agree that following our cool down this week, another colder blast of early fall air is very likely to arrive next week.

By the 9th or the 10th of September the models agree on a large area of low pressure moving in from the northwest, directly over Central California.

This low will bring an influx of cool air, with temperatures below average for September the middle of the coming week.

As far as showers, it looks right now like a bit of wettness may reach Sonoma County as early as Tuesday. Here are the various forecasts from the European ensemble and AI models.

So, it looks like a good chance of light showers as far south as Sonoma and even Marin counties next Tuesday and Wednesday the 9th and 10th of September.

And, for the month as a whole, the Climate Forecast Model has turned wetter for September across NorCal. Of course, we should keep in mind that September is a pretty dry month normally, so this doesn’t suggest any sort of deluge. But we like the trend and will keep you updated as conditions evolve.
