Share with Friends

Cal Fire and emergency services officials have reported that large areas of northern Sonoma County will be evacuated today due to the Kincade fire, and huge winds that will be arriving late Saturday.

The unprecedented evacuation order means that some 50 thousand residents may need to leave their homes in the next hours and head south on highway 101 to escape the possible spread of the still uncontrolled Kincade Fire, and allow first responders to man fire lines.

Highway 101 South will be used as an evacuation corridor, and will be cleared to allow the residents to head south to evacuation centers in Santa Rosa and Petaluma.  Buses from all agencies will be used to help residents in the unprecedented evacation.
