95-110 DEGREES THIS WEEKEND – EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT

Share with Friends

Hot spots in the North Bay will top 100 degrees from today (Friday) through Sunday, with the warmest locations like Cloverdale, Calistoga and Ukiah potentially reaching 105-110 degrees.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect from Friday through late on Sunday.

Since there will be a compressed but still active marine layer, the temperature contrast between the coast and inland will be extreme, from the 60s and 70s in places like Bodega Bay and Jenner, to 110 in isolated inland locations.

On Friday the marine layer was still there, but squashed by strong high pressure.

High pressure aloft as nosed into Central California, sending temperatures soaring.

Highs over the weekend will range from 95-100 degrees in central Sonoma County, to 110 or so in the north and eastern parts of the area.

Afternoon relative humidity values will be extremely low, heightening the fire danger from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening.

By Monday, a trough to our north will weaken the strong high pressure ridge, bringing gradual cooling to near normal temperatures by Tuesday or Wednesday.
