Wind and Showers; What’s Coming Our Way

Share with Friends

While we’ve been awaiting rain for weeks across the North Bay, unfortunately this week’s weather system will bring more wind than moisture (yes and another PG&E PSPS Event) , and we will likely have to wait until at least late next week for meaningful rain.

First though, a couple of forecast models do bring showers to the North Bay by late on Wednesday… a tenth of an inch or less.

Others keep us dry.

As for winds, a well-publicized wind event is on the way, which will peak sometime on Wednesday.  Top winds should reach 30-35 mph, with gusts to 45-50 mph at the highest elevations.  The high resolution model shows it well at midday on Wednesday.

Next week, a trough of low pressure drops down the coast once again.

Most models show this one picking up more moisture, and leaving us with the first real rain of the fall by the end of Thanksgiving weekend.

So, too far out for any certainty, but the models are in pretty good agreement that more showers are likely.  For now, buckle up for more breezy weather before the storm window opens just a bit (perhaps) by late next week.
