Wildfire Cottages Rise with Volunteer Help

A small home community now taking shape in Santa Rosa’s Fountaingrove neighborhood is testing how new, innovative construction techniques can get affordable houses built cheaply, and efficiently.

But this Habitat for Humanity project is also a testament to the work of volunteers, more than a year after devastating wildfires leveled thousands of the region’s homes.
