Sonoma County Declares Storm Emergency

Share with Friends

In an effort to beef up storm recovery and get help from the state of California, Sonoma County officials on Tuesday declared a local state of emergency.  The declaration means the county becomes eligible for state recovery and relief funds, should Governor Gavin Newsom decide to provide them.

Those funds may be critical in providing emergency services and relief to those affected by flooding along the Russian River, and elsewhere in the county.

Today, county officials held a press conference to talk about the flooding and Emergency Declaration.
