Increased Smoke for Sonoma County Through Weekend

Share with Friends
After a few days of clear skies, some smoke has returned to Sonoma County and the North Bay on Saturday. This smoke is from the August Complex Fire which has been burning for weeks in the Mendocino National Forest.

The passage of a cold front to our north produced a shift in the direction of winds from the southwest to the north on Friday. This has allowed smoke to drift over the region, however the smoke output of the fires is less than in recent days and air quality is not expected to reach the hazardous levels of the past week.

The smoke may be with us through the weekend at least before another wind shift helps to clear it away.
