Great Thanksgiving Banquet Goes Drive Through This Year

Share with Friends

The Redwood Gospel Mission’s annual Great Thanksgiving Banquet became the great Thanksgiving Drive Thru on Wednesday, once again ensuring that hundreds of needy families in Santa Rosa received gifts of food and good wishes.

The Redwood Gospel Mission partnered this year with dozens of local churches to pull off the event which is normally held at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. This year their host was Spring Hills Church where donations of turkeys, pies and other holiday favorites were handed out over 6 hours to some 800 families.

Besides holiday food, coupons for things like warm winter coats were also available.

The drive through format insured that proper COVID safe protocols were followed, while also ensuring that, in this difficult year, the community’s gifts of food and goodwill could be shared as always by a small army of dedicated volunteers.

Redwood Gospel Mission’s Eric Sangervasi says that despite the changes this year, the community stepped up as they always do.
