Lt. Governor Meets Impacted Families in Healdsburg

Share with Friends

In the wake of historic and massive power outages and evacuations this past week across the North Bay, a variety of not for profit organizations and community members are joining together to get food to those in greatest need.  And today, California Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis was on hand with words of support.

Hundreds lined up at Corazón Healdsburg as the community organization joined with the Redwood Empire Food Bank to supply pantry items to families throughout the Healdsburg area.

Since the evacuations ended Wednesday the Food Bank has been supplying food to families at locations throughout Sonoma County, and the distribution in Healdsburg was one of the biggest yet.

Lt. Governor Kounalakis came to let folks know that the state stands ready to help with essential services in the wake of the Kincade Fire and the huge and extended PG&E Power Shutoffs, events that that left hundreds of thousands in the dark and forced from their homes across the North Bay.
