Evacuation Orders Lifted for Rio Nido, Lake Sonoma Areas

Share with Friends

Some of the last residents still under evacuation orders due to the Walbridge Fire have been told they can return home. This includes the city of Rio Nido, and areas around Lake Sonoma.  The latest order was issued at 12PM on Sunday.

In the past 24 hours, an area north of the Russian River that includes the town of Hacienda as well as areas west of Dry Creek Road on the northeast sector of the fire, and west of Westside Road on the Southeast sector of the fire were also opened.

This means that virtually all of the residents forced from their homes due to the Walbridge Fire have been allowed to return home, with the last holdouts being areas along rural roads within the fire zone, and areas north of Guerneville along Armstrong Woods Road north of Rio Nido Road.
