WHEN WILL IT RAIN? A DRY WEEK AHEAD.

For now, current trends keep the storm track north of California for the next 5 days or so, with occasional storms brushing us with clouds and a few showers over the northern mountains. That pattern looks to stay the same through the upcoming weekend.

After that? Longer range models disagree, with one calling for a good dose of rain around the first week of November.

CURRENTLY

We are in caught in between high pressure to our south, and an active storm track to our north. Pretty typical for fall in California.

This weekend the storm track will still be north of us, into the Pacific Northwest and Canada.

By around the 28th or 29th, the setup may change, with low pressure diving further south and possibly bringing a little rain with it.

This is a week out, and the models disagree, but the American GFS model is suggesting a rather rainly stretch to kick off November.

Still, the European model keeps the action north of us, so we’re hoping for better model agreement over the next few days.

HALLOWEEN (Early Outlook)

For Thursday October 31st, the models seem to agree that the storm track will miss us. But, we’re right on the edge of the action and this is still 10 days away, so check back to keep up to date on current forecasts.

You can see that for now, the GFS and European models show most storms staying to the north and east, missing us with any significant rain. The GFS shows a track further west near California, while the European keeps the storm track more to our north.

We’ll keep an eye on this and update the forecast as conditons change. Stay tuned!
