Warming Up, Heightened Fire Concerns Next Week

Share with Friends

As the showery weather moves out of our region, all eyes are on next week and the possibility of warm, dry fire weather conditions developing.

Across California, showers were continuing in the mountain of the northern part of the state.

There will be a warming trend through Sunday as high pressure replaces the cool low pressure troughs that have been bringing showers to the North Bay.  But by Sunday, another cool trough will pass to our east, bringing a slight cool down.

What forecasters are worried about is a period from Tuesday through Wednesday when winds could turn to the north and east, bring warm, dry air and gusty offshore winds to the region.

You can see the forecast of offshore winds arriving on Tuesday at the end of the loop below.

For now, this is just a possibility.  But it is one that forecasters are watching closely.

So, expect a warm pleasant weekend in the 80s in most parts of the North Bay, and the chance of heightened fire weather concerns beginning around Tuesday of next week.
