STORMS RETURN NEXT WEEK

Share with Friends

Sunny and mild weather through this weekend across the North Bay. On Monday a storm misses us to the south. On Wednesday and Thursday a moderate to large storm drops significant rain. A couple more smallish storms are possible from next Friday-Tuesday.

The next storm due up should arrive early Wednesday the 12th, continuing on Thursday. This will be a significant, relatively cold storm for most of the state, with big snows expected in the Sierra.

After the first storm clears out on Thursday, it looks like another one will follow for Friday the 14th into Saturday the 15th.

And a third shot at rain from late Sunday the 16th, into Monday the 17th.

By Tuesday the 18th, rain totals could be significant, in the 3-6 inch range across the North Bay. About half of that should come next Wednesday-Thursday, and about half in the two smaller storms that follow. This is an early estimate from the National Blend of Models.

In the Sierra, significant snow will fall. Potentially the snowiest storm series of the winter with 3-4 feet possible above 5-6K feet. Very good news for skiers.

After the 17th of March the weather may turn drier, with high pressure building in. But there are hints that we may be brushed by smaller storms at times into early April. More on that to come.
