STORMS BEGIN LATE WEDNESDAY. SIGNIFICANT RAIN POSSIBLE.
A series of three storms may impact the North Bay over the next 5-6 days and could bring significant rainfall totals to much of the North Bay by next Tuesday.
The first storm can be seen out in the ocean to the northwest of California on Tuesday. It will arrive on Wednesday night.
This first storm will arrive with light to moderate rainfall, and relatively modest totals by Friday.
We can generally expect around a half inch of rain across the North Bay from late Wednesday night through the day on Thursday. In the most recent model runs this storm has been trending a bit wetter, so don’t be surprised if there are a few totals approaching a full inch, especially in the hills.
There won’t be much break in between storms. The second system arrives fast on the heels of the first late on Friday, and continues through most of Saturday. This one has a pretty rich moisture tap. You can see it stretching out west from California.
It could add around two inches (or more) to the amount we received from the first storm. The projected rainfall total (2 storms) by Sunday exceeds three inches in the wettest spots of the North Bay. The WPC blended model is sort of an average of the various outlooks.
Finally a third storm should arrive during the day on Monday. It looks fairly weak at this point but it could still add a half inch or more to the rainfall totals (3 storms) by Tuesday.
Stay tuned for more details!
