Still Time to Register to Vote. Visit Online Link.
If you’re eligible to vote in the November 3rd General Election and haven’t yet registered, there’s still time. The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters says the deadline to register is midnight tonight, Monday October 19th.
To be eligible to vote you must be a US citizen and be at least 18 years of age on or before election day. In addition you cannot be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction. Also, if you’ve moved or changed your name you should go online and register by midnight as well.
The easiest way to register is to do it online via this link.
Paper registration forms are also available at many government offices including City Hall, many post offices, and the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters office. However forms must be postmarked no later than today, October 19th.
Due to the coronavirus emergency, voting this year will be different. Voters have the option to cast their ballots at any one of 30 in-person voting locations. Those will be open for four days beginning on October 31st. Voters can also drop their ballots off at one of 20 drop off ballot boxes in Sonoma County. For complete information about voting locations and rules, visit this link.
Finally, if you miss the deadline altogether, you have the option to “conditionally register” and vote in person. Contact the Registrar of Voters office for more information.
