SONOMA COUNTY’S STAY AT HOME ORDER AT A GLANCE

BEGINS: 12:01 AM Saturday Dec. 12
ENDS: End of day January 9th
INTENT: To reduce mixing and interaction between people from different households to reduce spread of coronavirus.
WHY: Sonoma County has seen case numbers double in a short period of time to current 25 per 100k per day. Test positivity rate rising rapidly to almost 7 percent from less than 4 percent two weeks ago. Hospitalizations up to mid 60 beds countywide and rising and approaching pandemic high, and Sonoma county currently has 10 percent or less of staffed ICU beds available. These rising numbers mirror Bay Area and California where almost all residents are now under Stay at Home orders.

WHAT ORDER CLOSES/STOPS:

-Gatherings beyond own household
-Hair salons and barber shops (indoor and outdoor)
-Personal care services (indoor and outdoor)
-Movie theatres (indoor)
-Wineries, bars, breweries and distilleries (on-site consumption)
-restaurants for indoor and outdoor dining (pickup, delivery allowed)
-Museums
-Sports

WHAT STAYS OPEN (WITH MASKS AND OTHER HEALTH MEASURES)

-Schools previously approved to open
-Medical and dental care
-Childcare and pre-k
-Critical infrastructure
-Outdoor recreation
-Grocery stores (35% capacity)
-Retail stores (20% capacity)
-Shopping centers (20% capacity)
-Hotels, lodging, and vacation rentals (essential workers and vulnerable populations only)
-Restaurants for takeout only
-Places of worship and political protest (outdoor only)
-Playgrounds

ESSENTIAL WORKERS INCLUDE:

-Healthcare personnel and their support staff (janitorial support, billing, etc)
-Emergency services
-Food and agriculture
-Energy sector employees
-Water and wastewater employees
-Transportation and logistics
-Some communication and IT personnel
-Government operations and community-based services
-Critical manufacturing
-Financial services
-Chemical and hazardous material employees
-Sheltering services (includes construction)
-Defense industry
