SMOKE AND HEAT IN THE NORTH BAY FORECAST
Fires burning across the West spread smoke across wide areas of California on Saturday, and that smoke should be around for several more days.
The satellite picture shows where the smoke is coming from, primarily from two fires in the southern Sierra, but also from other fires in Oregon.
The smoke layer higher in the atmosphere covered most of California on Saturday.
The surface smoke forecast for Sunday shows lots of smoke hanging around California.
Across the North Bay on Saturday, light to moderate surface smoke was being detected.
Looking ahead, after a cooler weekend, high pressure builds back into California for the start of the week, with above normal temperatures through Wednesday.
Around Thursday of the coming week a low pressure trough replaces high pressure, bringing temperatures back down to slightly below normal from Friday into the weekend.
Stay tuned for more updates.
