A plume of moisture drawn north by an atmospheric wave currently off the Southern California coast will bring a chance of showers, with possible dry thundershowers to the North Bay and Bay Area from early Wednesday AM, through mid afternoon.

TUESDAY HEAT

The high temperature at Sonoma County Airport Tuesday officially reached 100 degrees, short of the record of 104 set back in 2015, but far above the normal high for the date of 84 degrees.

Highs ranged up to 107 degrees across the North Bay, with far cooler temperatures near the coast. Slight cooling is expected on Wednesday.

THUNDERSTORM CHANCES

On Tuesday afternoon the NWS updated their forecast to include a 20% chance (slight chance) of thundershowers across the North Bay from 2AM Wednesday, through 2PM Wednesday. A Red Flag Warning was not issued for most of the region due to the uncertainty of the forecast, however the NWS Eureka has issued a Warning for the interior mountains of NW California from Lake County north.

The moisture will reach a maximum over the Bay Area (blue colors) around midday Wednesday.

The high resolution NAM 3K forecast suggests showers will be possible over the North Bay. Here is the forecast for 8AM Wednesday, 2PM Wednesday and 4PM Wednesday. Any showers that take place will be hit and miss for any particular area of the North Bay.
