Significant rain, up to an inch, Expected with Thursday-Friday Storm
As California transitions to spring a series of small storms continue to sweep into the northern half of the state. The latest system will arrive early Thursday bringing a nice dose of much-needed moisture.

Rain will begin sometime after midnight Wednesday, and increase during the early morning hours on Thursday. This storm will have a weak tropical moisture tap, which will enhance rainfall over coastal areas where the AR sets up. (Image 2)
For Sonoma County and the North Bay, the models forecast about a half inch to over an inch of rain by Friday afternoon. (Images 3 and 4) You can see the area where models think the AR will set up, near the Santa Cruz mountains.
Further ahead, we’ll have mostly sunny weather but cool weather as another storm passes to our north Monday. By Tuesday high pressure builds in for a week of warming weather.
More showery, rainy weather may return for the first week of April. Long range models have been in good agreement on another trough sitting over the West Coast to start the month. (Image 5)
If that happens we could see another storm or two slip in before warmer weather returns. The CFS long range outlook is for wet weather that week. (Image 6)
Let’s hope it’s correct!
