SIERRA SNOW DUMP, SOAKING RAIN FOR NORTH BAY
Our much anticipated storm arrives late Sunday and lasts into Tuesday. Model consensus is strong that it will be significant, which we’ve reported was the trend for the last two weeks.
Before the arrival of the major cold front, another weaker disturbance arrives Saturday. Let’s break it out.

The storm series can be seen ramping up in the North Pacific, with a broad cold front and very cold air behind it.
The first rain arrives Saturday afternoon. Here is the European forecast. Just light amounts from this one late Saturday, perhaps a quarter inch or less over the North Bay.
Forecast rain through midday Sunday.
Then it gets more interesting. By late Sunday, the 2nd storm will arrive in the North Bay.
The associated low pressure center is forecast to move south, right along or just off the California coast Sunday-Tuesday.
Our forecast rainfall by midday Wednesday via the WPC blended model. Maybe an inch to inch and a half total.

In the Sierra, the snow will be measured in feet by midweek.
