Satellite View, Fire Cameras Show Change in Winds

As expected, on Saturday winds around the Walbridge Fire turned from the west and northwest (blowing to east and southeast), to the south and southwest (blowing to the north and northeast).

As of Saturday mid-afternoon, this change is reflected in satellite imaging, as well as NWS wind maps and fire cameras around the region.  The change in winds is one reason why Sonoma County Emergency Officials pushed the evacuation order further out to the west edges of Windsor and Healdsburg Saturday morning.

The first image is of the Mt. Jackson camera Saturday afternoon, showing smoke being pushed generally north.
The second image is the Saturday real-time wind chart from the NWS Bay Area.
The third image is the Saturday satellite image of Northern California. This shows smoke from the Walbridge Fire and fire complexes to our north being pushed to the north by prevailing southerly winds.
