RAIN ARRIVES FROM THE NORTH AND SOUTH
The North Bay is between two storm systems on Saturday, one north and one south. Ahead of the main cold front still over the Pacific Ocean, moist air is being drawn into the state, bringing moderate rain to the south of us. The two systems can be clearly seen on this satellite loop.

As the weekend progresses, the North Bay will see light rain from the south, then heavier rain beginning late Saturday through Sunday morning as the main front passes through.
Then more rain Monday into Tuesday as the low pressure center behind the cold front moves over California.
With long-lasting systems like this one, the rain will be spread over several days. Here’s the best guess for total rain by Wednesday. Around an inch is expected for much of the North Bay. Much more in the Sierra and coastal hills.
The good news for the state’s water supply is that rain and snow will once again be heavy in the Sierra, with another 3 feet of snow possible across much of the range by Wednesday.
Looking to late in the coming week, there are hints that another storm could impact California. Both major forecast models show yet another low pressure center diving south along the West Coast on Thursday and Friday.
And bringing rain back to Northern California by late Thursday.
But that’s almost a week away, and forecast confidence is low at this point. Lets cross our fingers.
More updates to come.
