With forecasts showing a moderately strong offshore wind event expected late Tuesday, PG&E on Tuesday increased the number of customers impacted across the North Bay, and extended the timeline for the shutoffs.

As of midday Tuesday, the number of affected customers in Napa, Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino counties had been increased to 11,339. This included 4563 in Lake County, 3991 in Napa County, 1647 in Sonoma County and 1138 in Mendocino County. The utility says shutoffs will now take place between 7PM and 10PM on Tuesday night, and full restoration of power is not expected until 2PM on Thursday.

The planned shutoffs will be mostly in unincorporated rural areas, but have been expanded to include customers in hilly areas to the east of Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park and other Sonoma County cities. (Images 1, 2 and 3)
