MORE TEMPERATURE RECORDS POSSIBLE FOR NORTH BAY – RELIEF ON WAY

Share with Friends
At 1PM Friday much of Sonoma County and the North Bay were again headed to record or near record high temperatures.
Cloverdale was warmest (Image 1) at 102-104 and still rising, with much of central Sonoma County in the high 90s and expected to go higher. (Image 2).
Meantime, the immediate coast was kept cool by a shallow marine layer (but no fog yet), with temperatures as cool as 58 at Dillon Beach and 61 at Bodega Head. (Image 3)
Coastal fog and stratus was stalled in its northward movement at Big Sur at midday Friday. (Image 4) However it is expected to move rapidly north Friday night, with the northward push of marine air bringing relief to near coastal areas on Saturday, with gradual cooling inland as well.
By Monday, the high pressure dome responsible for our heat will move away, replaced with a West Coast trough of low pressure. (Image 5)
This will bring marked cooling with highs across inland areas of the North Bay in the 70s to mid 80s for most of next week, slightly below average for late June. (Image 6)
