More Cooling for Weekend with 60s on the Way. Showers?

Share with Friends

After a mini heat wave that set September records, a well-deserved cool down is already underway across the North Bay, and temperatures will continue to fall into the upcoming weekend.

This week’s heat set records in many North Bay cities.  The Sonoma County Airport broke daily high temperature records both Tuesday and Wednesday.  At 103 and 105, both days shattered the previous record by 7 degrees.

A deep trough is digging down from the Northwest, while fog and low clouds cover western Sonoma County.

A series of low pressure troughs will keep the cool air coming through the middle of next week.  Most models show rain and snow staying to our east.  But the well-respected European model shows a little rain in the North Bay by the middle of next week.  Interesting….

One thing is certain, it will be much cooler.  The long range outlook keeps highs across the North Bay below 80 degrees until next Saturday, October 5th!

And, this week, a taste of fall will bring lots of rain and snow to the Pacific Northwest, extending into Northern California.  We will get mainly cool air and a few clouds at times.  Enjoy the break from the heat!
