MOISTURE SURGE THIS WEEKEND SHOULD STAY SOUTH OF NORTH BAY

Share with Friends

As often happens when high pressure over California shifts east, a surge of subtropical moisture will bring clouds and scattered showers to Southern California and the Sierra this weekend. At this point there seems little chance that the moisture and thundershowers will reach the Bay Area and North Bay. We may see a few high clouds at times however.

For us the heat will continue through Friday, then drop back down to the 80s across most of the region by Saturday through the coming week.

In the satellite view, you can see the marine layer being compressed along the coast while the first high clouds stream into southwest California.

By the weekend, high pressure will shift to the east allowing moisture to stream into California from the south. At this point scattered showers are expected to be limited to the Sierra and parts of Southern California.
