Here it Comes Again! More Rain and Snow Arriving.

Share with Friends

In a near repeat of last weekend, periods of moderate to heavy rain are headed to the North Bay and the Bay Area over the next three days.

Here is the first storm for Friday churning off the coast of Northern California.

Our rain will arrive Friday midday, and after a break for a time Saturday will resume with a second, colder storm late Saturday night, or early Sunday morning.

The storm on Sunday will bring strong winds to the mountains and higher elevations, and lots of snow to the Sierra.  The National Weather Service is calling for 2-4 feet by Monday at places like Donner Pass.  Snow levels in the North Bay will drop to 2-3 thousand feet by Monday.

Most models forecast rainfall amounts across Sonoma County at one half to one inch by Monday, and more in the wetter locations.  But since the soil is already saturated, there may be minor street and small stream flooding.

Looking further ahead, another storm that may be wetter but not as cold, could arrive by the middle of next week.

And, forecast models are hinting that a trough of low pressure may stick around the West Coast through the middle of February and perhaps beyond…keeping the storm door open.
