Hennessey Fire Grows to 2500 Acres. Evacuation Center Set Up In Napa.
The Hennessey Fire continued to rage across eastern Napa County late on Monday evening, growing from a lightning strike along Hennessey Ridge Road east of Rutherford to a blaze that has consumed 2500 acres in just 12 hours.
The fire forced evacuations along rural roads near the Hennessey Reservoir, and threatened more than 200 structures. Late this evening the fire was still growing eastward toward Lake Berryessa.
The other large North Bay blaze currently raging is the Gamble Fire, which had grown to an estimated 600 acres as of 8PM Monday and is located to the east of the Hennessey Fire near Lake Berryessa.
Other major fires underway in the Bay Area include the River Fire in Monterey County at almost 4000 acres and 10 percent containment, the Deer Zone fires near Mt. Diablo and the city of Brentwood at approx 1200 acres, and the Marsh Fire east of Milpitas in Santa Clara County at approx 1800 acres.
Evacuation Order Issued for the Hennessey Fire:
- Highway 128 from Lower Chiles Valley Road to Monticello Road
- Highway 128 from Chiles Pope Valley Road to Lower Chiles Valley Road
- Chiles Pope Valley Road from Highway 128 to Lower Chiles Valley Road
- All of Hennessey Ridge Road.
Evacuation Warnings Issued for the Hennessey Fire:
- Highway 128 at Silverado Trail to Chiles Pope Valley Road, including the Pritchard Hills Area
- Highway 128 at Lower Chiles Valley Road to Turtle Rock
