Evans’ Long-Awaited Log Home Rises in Coffey Park
Almost two and a half years to the day since their home was burned in the Tubbs Fire, a beloved Santa Rosa family on the edge of Coffey Park is watching their long-awaited ranch house rise to the sky.
Houston and Glyn Evans along with Houston’s wife Victoria are overseeing the construction of a 2100 square foot cedar log home on their property on the north side of Coffey Park.
This week giant log structural beams were going into place at the property they call Coffey Creek Ranch.
The family became well known when the Tubbs Fire claimed the life of Valerie Evans, Glyn’s wife and Houston’s mother. Valerie’s favorite pet, a longhorn cow named Angel survived the fire and became a much-loved symbol of resilience, not only to the family but also to the entire Coffey Park and North Bay Community.
On Thursday, a giant 30 foot beam that will span the entrance to the home was laid into place. Houston Evans told News of the North Bay the unique log home will command impressive views and be a source of joy to the entire family when it’s completed.
