CALIFORNIA HEAT UPS FORECAST FOR SEPTEMBER, BUT (AT PRESENT) NO SEVERE SIGNALS FOR NORTH BAY.
Although many forecasting sites have been warning of a big September heat event across California, a close look at forecasting models suggests the heat that does come may be short-lived, and the North Bay spared from its worst impacts.
The long range models are all similar to the Euro in showing a potentially significant heat event centered across the San Joaquin Valley and parts of Central California to our south from the first week into the second week of September. Another heat up is suggested at the end of the month. In both cases however the models at present show the North Bay only rising on average 4-6 degrees above normal, with marine influences helping to keep us moderate.

When taken as a whole, the major forecasting models still suggest September may be relatively moderate for the North Bay temperature-wise, averaging normal to only 2-3 degrees above normal over the next 30 days.
