Breaking: Huge Coronavirus Aid Package Coming from Feds, Tax Deadline Extended 90 Days

As most of the nation adjusts to a jarring change in normal life in the wake of the coronavirus crisis, Congress and the executive branch are preparing an unprecendented aid package for American workers and businesses impacted by the crisis.

With millions thrown out of work indefinitely and much of the economy grinding to a halt, Congress and the White House are considering a proposal that would provide immediate checks to Americans in the amount of $1 thousand dollars or more.  If approved, that could take place over the next two weeks. That would cost around $250 Billion or more.

Additional direct payments would reportedly be considered, if the crisis persists.

This would be in addition to a more comprehensive package of family leave and other payments to help Americans weather the coming financial storm.  That package has already passed the House, and is in the Senate.  President Trump has said he will sign it.  The two aid packages may be combined.

The Treasury Department is also planning to defer income tax payments, interest and penalty free, for 90 days.  That would reportedly pump $300 Billion more into the nation’s economy.
